On 9 January 2025, the first international scientific council of SIRIC ILIAD for the period 2023-2027 was held.
The purpose of the SAB (Scientific Advisory Board) is to advise and support SIRIC ILIAD by assessing its organisation, strategy and the quality of its research work.
This board is made up of internationally renowned researchers, with expertise in each of the 3 integrated research programmes conducted by the SIRIC:
- Monique FRINGS-DRESEN, Amsterdam University
- Roland HUSTINX, Liège University
- Bruno PAVIA, Navarre University
- Rachel GOLUB, Institut Pasteur
- Giuseppe CURIGLIANO, Milan University
The SAB particularly praised the structuring cross-disciplinary actions and shared resources – such as the Organlm platform, single-cell technologies and innovative preclinical models – which significantly strengthen cooperation across all the research programmes.
The governance of SIRIC ILIAD was also recognised for its clarity and effectiveness. In particular, the SAB highlighted the creation of a junior committee and the initiatives in favour of young scientists, which are essential for supporting the emergence of future research leaders.
