As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, SIRIC ILIAD and Cancéropôle Grand Ouest are organising the 5th edition of the public conference ‘Different Perspectives on Breast Cancer: From Research to Patients’ on 16 October 2025, dedicated to ‘breast cancer and adapted physical activity’.
A great deal of research shows that regular physical activity can be beneficial for people living with cancer, leading, for example, to an improvement in quality of life, mental well-being and physical fitness, whilst reducing fatigue.
This event, which will take the form of a round-table discussion from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm, will provide an opportunity to discuss this topic with our speakers:
- Fabienne Renaud, patient and representative of the Association Vendéene de Lutte Contre le Cancer (AVLC)
- Damien Vansteene, oncologist at the Institut de Cancérologie de l’Ouest (ICO)
- Amélie Rébillard, lecturer and researcher at the University of Rennes 2 and at the ‘Movement – Sport – Health’ (M2S) laboratory
- Pierre-François Carton, researcher at the Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie et Immunologie Intégrée Nantes Angers (CRCI2NA) and at the Institut de Cancérologie de l’Ouest (ICO)
as well as two APA (adapted physical activity) teachers from the ICO: Julie Devriendt and Clotilde Simonneau
